NAAIA Foundation Hiring its first Director of Social Impact Operations

The NAAIA Foundation is seeking an accomplished leader and passionate individual to be its first Director of Social Impact Operations to lead the organization in fulfilling its mission and vision of supporting education, developing leaders, rebuilding communities, and supporting Black entrepreneurship. The primary responsibility of the Director of Social Impact Operations is cultivating relationships with key donors and institutions in support of the NAAIA Foundation goals.

The Director of Social Impact Operations will report jointly to the NAAIA Foundation Board of Directors CEO and the Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer of NAAIA.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a successful nonprofit management track record, and a commitment to empowering underrepresented individuals in the insurance sector. They are independent and collaborative, operating with a service-oriented mindset that aligns with NAAIA’s mission and values.

Strategic Vision and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision in alignment with the Foundation’s mission, driving growth and impact.
  • Provide effective leadership, ensuring the Foundation’s programs and initiatives positively impact the insurance industry landscape.

Fundraising and Development:

  • Lead fundraising efforts, including grant applications, donor cultivation, and fundraising events, to secure financial support for Foundation programs.
  • Develop and implement Foundation marketing programs.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with philanthropic organizations, corporate partners, and individual donors.

Program Management:

  • Work with NAAIA Foundation committee chairs to design, implement, and evaluate individual, organizational and grant initiatives and programs.
  • Ensure program effectiveness and alignment with the Foundation’s goals.

Community Engagement:

  • Collaborate with educational institutions, community organizations, and industry partners to expand the Foundation’s reach and impact.
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote the Foundation’s mission and build strategic alliances.

Financial Management:

  • Partner with Foundation Board leadership to develop the annual budget. ensuring responsible fiscal stewardship and compliance with nonprofit financial regulations.
  • Provide regular financial reporting to the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Board Relations:

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors, providing updates, seeking input, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support the Board in governance and strategic planning efforts.

NAAIA Relations:

  • Work closely with NAAIA leadership to lead and support student scholarship and community-based social impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with association goals.
  • Participate in strategic planning efforts.

Public Relations and Advocacy:

  • Represent the Foundation to the public, media, and relevant stakeholders, articulating its mission and impact.
  • Advocate for diversity and educational opportunities within the insurance industry.

The effective management of the Foundation’s initiatives will require additional responsibilities as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven leadership experience in nonprofit management, preferably as an Executive Director or in a senior management role.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor cultivation.
  • Experience in program management, with a focus on education, scholarships, or diversity initiatives.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget development and oversight.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the insurance industry or related sectors is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The base salary for this position is $70,000 and is commission-eligible based on fundraising target. Benefits include:

  • 15 days of paid time off and observed federal holidays and a winter break for all employees.
  • Employer-sponsored plans for health, dental, and vision coverage, and life insurance.
  • 401K with employer match.
  • This role is bonus-eligible.
